(RTTNews) - Lil Wayne has avoided charges stemming from a drug bust in Texas last week. According to Weezy's lawyer, the rapper did not receive a citation after he and 11 others were detained by the U.S. border patrol in Falfurrias, Texas.
Though marijuana was found on two of Wayne's tour buses, it was reported that no drugs were found on the rapper himself. Officers issued citations to a few members of Wayne's entourage, according to OK! magazine, but the rapper did not receive one.
Lil Wayne will begin a year-long jail sentence in February for weapons charges stemming from a 2007 incident when a gun was found on one of his tour buses. The rapper pleaded guilty to the charges in October.
Meanwhile, Wayne's much delayed seventh studio album, Rebirth, is set to be released on February 1, eight days before he begins his sentence. The album recently made headlines when 500 hundred copies were accidentally shipped by Amazon to customers who had pre-ordered it
