Method Man Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion
After a nine-month battle, Method Man lost a six-figure tax battle with Uncle Sam.
As previously reported, Meth was arrested on October 9, 2009 for not filing his New York State Income Tax Returns from 2004-2007 or pay his personal income tax.
According to tmz.com, the Wu Tang Clan member pleaded guilty today (June 28) in Staten Island Criminal Court to a misdemeanor charge of attempted failure to pay taxes. The rap vet was able to avoid jail time though, after writing a $106,000 check. He was sentenced to a conditional discharge.
Meth is currently gearing up for this year’s Rock the Bells tour. Kicking off on August 21 in San Bernardino, CA., Tical will be joining the rest of his Wu-brethern as they perform their seminal debut, Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers in full, in front of a live audience. —Amber McKynzie
