Public Enemy's Chuck D Targets Arizona Immigration Bill In New Song

Public Enemy frontman Chuck D is returning to the studio, this time to protest Arizona's Immigration Bill.
This isn't Public Enemy's first Jab at the Grand Canyon State. Back in 1991 Public Enemy released the song “When I Get to Arizona,” which criticized the state for refusing to recognize Martin Luther King's birthday as a holiday.
The new single entitled “Tear Down the Wall” is in response to Arizona's SB Bill 1070. Chuck D explains that the single is in protest to the recent racial profiling action that the state has adopted.
The title of the song is in reference to the Mexico-Arizona and Mexico-California border. Although the song references these borders, Arizona was specifically targeted for their specific racial profiling stance.

Chuck D also explained his dismay at the lack of progress that Arizona has made.
“Yeah, because the governor is a Hitler. Things do change from time to time but it goes right back into just proving that it wants to be something else”, Chuck D explained to Billboard magazine.
