Former Bad Boy Rapper, Loon, Arrested In Belgium; To Be Extradited To U.S.

Former Bad Boy signee-turned-Muslim, Loon, was arrested in Belgium last week and is set to be extradited to the United States to face separate drug charges.

According to XXL, the rapper (born Chauncey Lamont Hawkins) is facing cocaine distribution charges from an indictment, which says he was involved in drug trafficking from early 2006 to late 2008.

He was reportedly arrested at Brussels Airport, but further details were unknown at press time.

The document (obtained by DDotOmen.com) says that Loon “knowingly and intentionally” possessed with intent to distribute at least one kilogram of heroin in North Carolina. Furthermore, he was arrested and indicted for felony heroin distribution in North Carolina in May 2011, but fled to Algeria after being released from jail.

Stay tuned…

Loon is best known for his guest feature on Diddy’s 2002 hit single, “I Need a Girl (Part One)”, and its remix. He began his rap career as a member of Mase’s Harlem World group. In 2003, the Harlem rapper released his solo, self-titled debut … after which, his career began to fade.

He left Bad Boy and went on to release two more albums via independent labels.

Loon was previously arrested in 2004, and charged with attempted murder after a security guard was stabbed during a fight in a Los Angeles club. However, he was not convicted in the incident.
