Kid Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, may have carved an impressive career as an alternative hip hop artist but seems to have given up on ever gaining custody of his daughter. In an ongoing legal battle, that has been simmering for an year now, the artist was vying with his child’s mother for custody.

He claimed credit for generous support and that he even moved to Chicago to be with his family; however, his child’s mother rejected the claim stating that he was an absentee father and provided “sporadic and inconsistent amounts” of support; apart from having a “long history of consistent drug and alcohol abuse.”
