(Chicago, IL) Since experiencing a troubled past that included a few run-ins with the law, including prison time, MuBu Gang artist, Castro, has fully dedicated himself to his music. Over the past few years, Castro has gradually made a name for himself as an up and coming star on the Chicago Hip-Hop scene. Now, with upcoming projects such as “Welcome Home” and “F*ck the Industry,” he has set his sights far beyond Chicago. Castro continues to tell his story through his upcoming mix-tape, “F*ck the Industry,” hosted by Stack or Starve and set to be released on January 27th. His new single, “Hunnit,” is a preview of what listeners can expect from the tape.
“Hunnit” showcases the Chicago gritty sound that listeners have become accustomed to hearing from Castro. Produced by well-known Chicago producer, BlockOnDaTrakk, Castro says that “Hunnit” is a track that the streets will love. He manages to stay true to the artist he is, showing listeners what to expect throughout “F*ck the Industry.”
Coming off of the successful project, “Welcome Home” (The Prelude), expect Castro to take an even bigger step forward with “F*ck the Industry.” Although the title may give the sense that Castro is taking a jab at the music industry, he wants listeners to be sure it’s not a diss. Instead, the title is referring to the way Castro murders industry beats, even hinted that this may be the beginning of a mix-tape series.
