Casey Veggies is busy promoting his long-awaited debut album, Live & Grow, and made a stop at the HNHH office yesterday prior to his NYC show.
Fresh off the release of his latest single, "Tied Up" featuring DeJ Loaf, Casey detailed what else we'll find on Live & Grow, as well as that song in particular. "She's a dope artist to me. The record was just a feel-good song, I just felt like it was depicting that young love story that I feel like was necessary on the album. It's definitely another element for me, a grown element, another approach." The West Coast rapper previewed a song with BJ The Chicago Kid the other week on Instagram, which he elaborated on further during our interview. "That record is called "Life Song." It's one of my favorites. Every song is one of my favorites. We recorded that song in the studio together out in L.A. The feeling is just good, and it's called "Life Song," have you ever heard a song called "Life Song"? That's my point."
"I worked with Hit-Boy, I worked with THC outta L.A., I worked with the homie Fresh Chuck, he's based outta Hawaii," Casey said of some of the producers he tapped for Live & Grow.
Speaking on more sensitive subject matter, Casey apologized for having to cancel his upcoming show in Baltimore in wake of all the riots, and promised he'd be back soon.
