Since Murs released his last album, 2012's Yumiko: Curse of the Merch Girl, a lot has changed for him, namely a move from a major label to an indie. Thankfully, though, his new album arrives two weeks after his label boss debuted at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100-- no small feat for any indie artist. Murs' Have A Nice Life drops this week on Tech N9ne's Strange Music label, and recently, we got a chance to chop it up with him.
In it, he offers a description of the album's title:
"Basically the duality of the term Have A Nice Life is, it could be a nice way of just wishing someone the best, or it could be a nice way of saying 'Fuck outta my face' without saying it. It's something I've used with the police often, and people who fuck up my order at Chick Fil A."
